Chocolate Layered Gut Seal
Try the classic Gut Seal Slice with an epic twist for an added creamy chocolate layer! It's a perfect double chocolate combo for this Easter without any nasties to leave you feeling less than your best!
This dessert can be put into mould to create Easter egg shapes, cups, stars etc. The Gut Seal will promote bowel regularity, healing the gut lining, feeding your beneficial bugs and is a natural anti-parasitic food!
For the base:
- Gut Seal Premix
- 2/3 cup coconut oil
- 2/3 cup ghee or butter
- 2 Tbsp MCT oil
- Optional - 1/4 cup collagen
- Optional to taste - 1 tsp ginger, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla
- Optional to taste- 3 tbsp xylitol or sweetener of choice
Method:
- On a very low heat melt coconut oil and butter/ghee together in a saucepan.
- Once butter and oil are melted together add the remaining ingredients and stir well until combined.
- Determine what you want to 'set' your gut seal mixture in, you can add to moulds, pour into muffin tins or just a plain old tray will do. Just leave enough room and external edges so you can pour your chocolate layer over the top.
- Place mixed ingredients into the desired container and press down so that the mixture is even and flat
- Set in fridge (2 hours minimum) or freezer (30 minutes minimum).
For the choc layer:
- 1/2 cup raw cocoa butter or buttons
- 1/2 cup raw cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 2 drops liquid stevia or maple syrup to taste
- Optional 2 drops pure peppermint essential oil (be sure not to use the regular store-bought peppermint oil as it has alcohol and all sorts of nasty’s in it)
Method:
- In a small saucepan melt the raw cocoa butter gently stirring until smooth.
- Add the coconut oil and stir until melted.
- Remove from the heat and add the cocoa powder, stevia or maple syrup and peppermint oil if using.
- Combine until all the ingredients are smooth.
- Pour over the top of your cooled Gut Seal Slice in whatever mould or shape you've created!
- Refrigerate until solid and enjoy!
