Meet our kind and courageous founder Kirsty
Firstly I want you to know I’m just like you. Gut health has affected myself and my family. And like you, I want the best for those around me.
For as long as I can remember I’ve had health problems. But it wasn’t until I became a mum that I realised that something much more serious was going on. Feeling “not quite right” had bigger consequences than I had ever thought possible. When my young children became very ill I was determined to do anything I could to change the course of their lives.
After extensively researching gut health and probiotics. I began creating my own yoghurt and kefir starters. Out of pure necessity and desperation, as I sought to provide my children with the high-dose probiotic nourishment in a way that we could afford.
The Kultured Wellness ferments I created, combined with a serious lifestyle change, healed my family.
These products are now nourishing people all over the world helping them regain control of their health. This is something that I’m extremely proud of.
This is not a fad diet or a quick fix. Real healing takes courage, determination and commitment. It can get worse before it gets better. But I want you to know that it is possible to make these big, lasting changes.
My philosophy is simple: we need to accept the cards we have been dealt and then take responsibility for our own health and that of the next generation. It’s about making sure that we don’t continue to hand down these health issues that could be stopped now.
My mission is to reach more people and families in our community, and be able to spread the word about how fermenting can be an easy and powerful way to nourish the gut microbiome for good health.

In 2015, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, sparking my journey to explore root-cause solutions for chronic health issues. This ignited my passion for the "food as medicine" philosophy, combined with cutting-edge scientific research in physiology and nutrition.
I'm also a firm believer in the importance of sleep, sunlight, movement, and social connection for overall well-being. I advocate for the role of coaching in achieving optimal results, as our bodies have the innate ability to heal when properly supported. My coaching approach is all about breaking down complex concepts into understandable and achievable steps.
Moni Mithem
Naturopath, Nutritionist
I have had a long and immersive journey in the wellness industry over the past eighteen years, working with thousands of people to support them toward healthier choices for their health and that of their families. Trust means so much these days. Putting people before business, and providing opportunities for authentic connection means a lot to me.
As the daughter of a pharmacist, health was all around me in my early years. After a foray into finance, I circled back to an immersive learning in nutrition, herbal medicine, biochemistry, plant chemistry, physiology, counselling and much more, both academically and practically through the lens of my clinical practice, my integrated health centre, organics store, organic farm, and other roles through health stores and pharmacy.Relationships matter to me, and championing people’s health choices – really advocating alongside them – is what I see as my life purpose. I can’t think of anything I would rather be doing than this (and I realise this is very lucky!).
Empowerment through education is my intention when working with my clients, inviting to the table your stories, learnings and curiosity. I meet you where you’re at, and walk beside you while you make changes that really deliver on your health goals. There is so much more to share, so let’s meet!
Sierra Young
Communications and Digital Logistics Coordinator
Growing up in a family where discussions about health and medicine were commonplace, thanks to several members working in healthcare, it wasn't until my late teens that I developed a genuine passion for health and wellness. Driven by my own health challenges, I took a deep dive into how the body was designed to function and challenging my own lifestyle and mindset limits.
Inspired by my own search for optimal health and my previous professional experience in teaching and leadership, I melded my passion for science with compassion to assist others. This journey ultimately led me to become a health coach.
For me, nutrition and wellness knowledge are valuable only when individuals can practically apply it in their lives. I love helping people figure out how to translate what they know they should do into actionable steps for their unique lifestyles. love working for Kultured Wellness and being a part of a team of people eager to see change and breakthrough in people’s lives.
Jena Frylink
Naturopathy Student - BHSc Naturopathy and DipHSc
I am a naturopathy student coming towards the end of my bachelor degree. My interest in herbal medicine, nutritional support, nature therapy, homeopathy, and low-tox living drove me to study Naturopathy after I graduated highschool. Through my passion in these areas, I have been able to influence the people around me to establish a more holistic approach to their health and a new lens through which to view their body and lifestyle.
At Kultured Wellness, I enjoy preparing ferments, making up herbals, invoicing clients for their supplements, ordering functional tests, and consulting for group cleanses. I fully believe in food as medicine, establishing the foundations of health - sleep, hydration, movement, nourishment, sunlight, community, and stress management - as well as providing support with herbal and nutritional medicine. This is why I love being a part of the Kultured Wellness team, as we seek to go on the journey with our clients, delving into research, investigating the root causes, and setting clients up for success in their health.
I enjoy balancing my uni studies and work at Kultured Wellness with social time, nature walks, ocean dips, healthy cooking, reading, and playing piano.
